BIRTH TIME RECTIFICATION
The time recorded at birth determines the Ascendant, Midheaven, house cusps, and other highly time-sensitive points in an astrological chart.
Even a difference of several minutes can change the timing of important chart activations. When a birth time is missing, approximate, or uncertain, rectification can help identify the time that most consistently corresponds with your documented life events.
What Is Birth Time Rectification?
Birth time rectification is a careful process of testing possible birth times against significant events in your life.
Rather than choosing a time because it seems to describe your personality, I look for repeated timing evidence. Major events should consistently activate the same angles, houses, rulers, and sensitive chart points.
The purpose is to find the birth time that produces the strongest overall agreement between the chart and the life already lived.
Rectification May Be Appropriate If:
- Your birth certificate does not include a time.
- Your recorded time was rounded to the nearest hour or half hour.
- Different family members remember different times.
- You have been using an estimated birth time.
- Important events consistently appear mistimed in your current chart.
- You want greater confidence before ordering predictive or locational work.
What I Examine
I begin with the birth-time range you provide and construct a series of possible charts within that period.
Each possibility is tested through several astrological timing methods, which may include:
- Major transits to the angles and their rulers
- Secondary progressions
- Solar Arc directions
- Eclipses and nodal contacts
- Changes involving the Ascendant, Midheaven, and house structure
- Repeating planetary and angular patterns across multiple events
One event alone is rarely sufficient. Rectification becomes more reliable when several unrelated events repeatedly point toward the same chart structure.
The Events That Help Most
The most useful events are those with clear dates, especially:
- Marriage, engagement, separation, or divorce
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Death of a close family member
- Major relocation
- Career beginning, promotion, dismissal, or retirement
- Serious illness, diagnosis, surgery, or accident
- Graduation or another defining educational milestone
- Purchase or loss of a home
- A major legal or financial event
- The beginning or ending of an important relationship
Exact dates are best. A month and year may still be useful, but events remembered only generally carry less interpretive weight.
What I Will Need From You
Please provide:
- Your complete birth date and birthplace
- The most accurate possible range for your birth time
- The source of that range, if known
- A chronological list of significant life events
- Exact dates whenever possible
- Any existing birth record or family recollection that may help narrow the search
If the possible range covers most or all of a day, I may need additional events before determining whether rectification is feasible.
What You Will Receive
You will receive:
- The birth time that best fits the available evidence
- The resulting Ascendant and Midheaven
- A concise explanation of the strongest confirming events
- The principal astrological factors used to reach the conclusion
- An assessment of confidence in the rectified time
- A practical time range when the evidence supports a window rather than one exact minute
Your completed rectification will be delivered digitally so you can retain it for future readings.
What Rectification Can—and Cannot—Do
Rectification is an interpretive astrological method, not a replacement for an official birth record.
In some cases, the evidence converges strongly around a very narrow period. In others, the responsible conclusion may be a short range rather than a single exact minute. If the available events do not support a sufficiently reliable result, I will say so.
The goal is not to manufacture certainty. It is to identify the birth time most consistently supported by the patterns of your life.
Before Ordering
If you already have an accurately recorded birth time, you do not need rectification.
If your time is uncertain, please submit the known range and a preliminary list of dated life events before ordering. I will review the information first to determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed.
