Locational Astrology

1. What Locational Astrology Is

Your natal chart remains the foundation. Locational astrology adds geography. Different places can emphasize different planets, angles, houses, and areas of your life.

A location may place greater emphasis on career and visibility, relationships, home and family, creativity, study and communication, healing and retreat, opportunity and expansion, responsibility and pressure, and major personal change.

The purpose is to understand what a particular place is likely to emphasize for you.

2. Astrocartography

Astrocartography maps your natal planets across the Earth. The lines show locations where particular planets were rising, setting, culminating at the Midheaven, or reaching the lower meridian at the moment of your birth. Those planetary lines can describe places where specific planetary themes may become much more noticeable.

For example, Sun lines can emphasize identity and visibility, Moon lines home and family, Mercury lines communication, Venus lines relationships, Mars lines drive, Jupiter lines opportunity, Saturn lines responsibility, Uranus lines freedom, Neptune lines imagination, and Pluto lines transformation.

No planetary line is automatically good or bad. The question is what that planetary emphasis means for you, your natal chart, and the life you are trying to create.

3. Relocation Charts

Astrocartography shows the broader planetary geography. A relocation chart gives a more specific picture of how your natal chart is reorganized in a particular place.

Your planets remain at the same zodiac degrees, but the angles and houses change according to the new location. That can substantially alter which parts of the natal chart become emphasized.

4. I Look for Convergence

As with all of my readings, I am looking for repetition. I may compare astrocartography lines, relocated angles and houses, natal planetary condition, significant aspects, angular planets, current and upcoming transits, longer term timing patterns, and the practical reason you are considering the location.

The strongest recommendations come from convergence, when several different layers point in the same direction.

5. A Beautiful Line Is Not Enough

A Venus or Jupiter line can look appealing on a map. That does not automatically make it the best place for you.

A planet must always be understood in the context of your natal chart, its natal condition, the houses it rules, the relocated chart, your goals, and the kind of life you actually want to live.

6. When Locational Astrology Can Help

A Locational Astrology Reading can be useful when you are deciding whether to relocate, comparing cities, choosing where to retire, planning an extended stay, pursuing career opportunities, developing a business, considering creative work, exploring relationship possibilities, or trying to understand why a current or former location has affected you so strongly.

7. What You Receive

Your reading will focus on the locations or geographic question you provide. The analysis may include your most relevant astrocartography lines, comparison of specific cities, relocated charts, major opportunities and challenges, the areas of life most strongly emphasized, important planetary themes, current or upcoming timing, and a clear comparison when several locations are being considered.

8. Before Ordering

Please have a reasonably clear geographic question before ordering. You will be asked for your birth date, exact birth time, birth city, your current location, the city or cities you are considering, and the reason for your question.

If you are asking primarily when to move rather than where, an Electional and Timing Reading or Forecast Reading may be more appropriate.

9. Delivery

Your completed Locational Astrology Reading will be delivered by email within 5 to 10 days.
